Mother's Day Truth

Hope you mamas had a lovely Mother's Day! At dinner Sunday I had a St. Germain champagne aperitif, and let's just say I am a cheap date. Halfway through my drink, I may have started crying happy tears at the dinner table. Looking at my handsome man and boy, the loves of my life -- I just got so overwhelmed with happiness. Isaiah asked me that day if motherhood is everything I had hoped it would be, and of course it is! I hoped it would be wonderful, and it has been wonderful indeed. Even the frustrating and challenging bits are wonderful because I am daily in awe of this huge responsibility to raise up a little human, and the tough parts are all just part of the journey, and they really are the parts that make me think and grow and learn because it just means that Hunter is also thinking and growing and learning by leaps and bounds.

Will you look at that boy!? I just love his face when he's drinking through a straw. Not sure why, but it's that face that reminds me so much of my dad. xoxo
