Tollwood Festival, Munich

If you like shopping on Etsy or supporting Fair Trade efforts, then you'll love the Tollwood Festival going on now at the Olympic Park in Munich, Germany. For a couple of more weeks (until July 12 to be precise), handmade goods from jewelry to soaps to wall clocks are available for purchase from vendor stands collectively known as "Markt der Idee," or market of ideas. What's more, all food sold at the festival, with international offerings spanning the globe, is certified organic and fair trade.

Of course, it wouldn't be a cultural festival without some entertainment. On top of the already appealing handiworks and organic grub, the festival features a mix of music shows and theatrical performances, plus a tent devoted to dancing called the "Tanzbar." All activities, except for the concerts in the Musik-Arena, are free of charge. Get your eat, shop, and groove on!

If you do make it to München, be sure to take in some typical Bavarian culture by spending time at one of the many beer gardens, where young and old meet, greet, and relax.
