Mommy and Me Matching

What is it about dressing in matching outfits that I love so much? I can't put my finger on it, but I do know that when I see twins dressed in matching outfits I think it's the cutest thing ever. And now that Paloma is out of "baby clothes," I like the idea of us dressing in outfits that more or less coordinate.

And it's not just because she is a girl. When Hunter was a baby, I bought a baby shirt and a nursing dress that were matching stripes. Plus, when he was Paloma's age, we wore coordinating breton shirts (his stripes were navy blue and mine were brick red).

My first experiment with Paloma and I wearing matching outfits was this past Easter. I didn't actually go out of my way to order the clothes you see in the photo just so that we would match. The culottes I am wearing are from last summer, and the sweater I am wearing is one I just bought in attempt to add more color to my wardrobe. Paloma's red top is a layering shirt that I found on sale at Tea Collection, and her pants I also bought from Tea Collection to go with a different top. It's just a coincidence that the colors and styles match, and thank you to my friend Julie for capturing it, pee-accident-pants and all ;)

How do you feel about mommy and me matching?

P.S. Oh, yeah, and every night the kids lay out their clothes for the next day. The night before Easter I told Paloma, "Look if you wear this and this, you will be like mommy. We'll be matching!" And she was all on board, but then the next morning she started crying, "I no wanna match!!!" I somehow distracted her (ok, I hid the clothes she wanted to wear). Once she calmed down, she saw me dressed, and then proceeded to put on this outfit and smiling said, "Oh, we matching!" hahaha!!!
