New Month's Resolutions: September

Things are a little out of wack lately. We got back from ten days in Washington and Montana in mid-August, and I have not been able to motivate myself to do much of anything other than cook and look after the children. The house is a mess, I am a mess, and my Sseko business is slow. We are sort of in a period of transition -- things are so up in the air right now. BUT, I am happy. We are happy.

Our time in Seattle was too short, and I hardly took my camera out, so I don't have a lot to show for that trip, but we made some lovely memories with friends we hadn't seen in SIX years. It was so, so good to see them and meet their little ones. In Montana, we visited with Isaiah's dad and stepmom as well as his best friend from high school and his family (all whom we hadn't seen in five years). We were there a bit longer, so I have more pictures I hope to share on the blog shortly.

Looking back on my goals for July and August, I don't even remember writing them. It was definitely ambitious of me to write such clear-cut goals. It seems I wrote them and forgot about them the next day because I can't really cross off any of them. If I were to rewrite those goals, it would have been just one thing: enjoy the summer. Because that's exactly what I did. In addition to our trip up north, we've gone to the beach here more than any summer in recent memory. We've spent a lot of time with my mom and sister and nephew. We've enjoyed more picnic lunches than indoor ones. We went pear-picking (too early for apples). It was a good summer.

For September, I have one goal: get it together. This means by the end of September I need to get out of my funk of laziness, find some motivation, make a killer business plan, figure out what we our going to do with our life, and finish that damn parenting book.

  1. Loved the pics! It was so great having you all here! Looking forward to more days like that :-)

You are so full of energy! It sounds unusual to hear that you have been lazy. I think we all need a break sometimes, nothing wrong with that. I am sure you will get back on track now that you want to ;-)
